Which age group should my child be registered in?

Football age groups are based on the age a player turns during the calendar year.

For example:

• Under 6 (U6): for children turning 5 or 6 in that year, as it is the youngest age group
• Under 8 (U8): for children turning 8 in that year
• Under 10 (U10): for children turning 10 in that year
• Under 12 (U12): for children turning 12 in that year

This means a child may still be 7 when the season starts, but if they turn 8 at any point during the year, they register in Under 8. Age groups are set in line with Football Australia, Football NSW and Hills Football regulations. Generally, Play Football will only allow a player to select the correct age group based on their date of birth. If you are unsure or believe there is an issue, please contact the Club before registering.
