At Box Hill Rangers AFC, our club thrives because of the passion, time, and energy of our volunteers. As a community-based football club, we rely on members – and the families of our junior players – to pitch in and help make every season a success.

Volunteering is a great way to meet other families, be part of the team behind the team, and help our club grow. Plus, it’s a fun way to get involved and experience football from a different perspective!

Volunteer Hours

All members (or a parent/guardian of members under 18) are asked to contribute a minimum of 4 volunteer hours per season. This helps ensure our club operates smoothly and provides the best possible experience for players, families, and supporters.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are lots of ways to get involved! Volunteer hours can be fulfilled through a variety of activities, including:

  • Game-day duties (ground official, field set-up)
  • Coaching or team manager roles
  • Canteen or barbecue duties
  • Pre-season preparation of facilities, equipment, or uniforms
  • Club governance or committee support
  • Fundraising activities

We’ll do our best to accommodate your volunteering preferences, but sometimes tasks may be allocated to meet the club’s operational needs.

Requirements for Certain Roles

Volunteers in roles involving contact with children, including Coaches and Managers, are required to hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC). They must also complete any safeguarding, child protection, or member protection training required by Football Australia, Football NSW, Hills Football, or the Club.

What Happens if Volunteer Hours Aren’t Completed

To keep the club running smoothly, we do need everyone to meet their volunteering obligations. Members who do not complete the required hours may face consequences, such as:

  • Ineligibility for club awards
  • Suspension of membership privileges
  • Ineligibility for registration in future seasons
  • Application of volunteer bonds or levies in future seasons
